NORMAN, Oklahoma – Landry Jones and Ryan Broyles both had career nights, and the Oklahoma Sooners recovered from their first loss with a dominant 43-10 victory over Colorado.

The Colorado secondary proved unable to contain Broyles, and the Sooners (7-1, 3-1) took advantage of it all night. He broke two long touchdowns – an 81-yarder and 64-yarder – and finished the game with 208 yards, a new OU record.

Thanks to Broyles’ ability to break big plays, the Colorado (3-5, 0-4) defense gave the Sooners plenty of cushion in the passing game. Landry Jones took advantage of it.

Jones consistently found open targets in the flat, resulting in 32 completions and a career-high 453 yards. He finished just 15 yards shy of Sam Bradford’s school record of yards in a game, and Jones did not play in the fourth quarter.

Running back DeMarco Murray finished with 10 receptions – also a career high – and 73 yards in addition to 40 rushing yards. For the second game in a row, true freshman Roy Finch led the team in rushing, finishing with 59 yards on 10 carries.

The game started slow, with OU leading 3-0 after the first quarter. But the Sooners scored 26 points in the second quarter – the most they have scored in a quarter this season – and never looked back.

Saturday’s game marked the final time OU and Colorado with face each other as conference opponents. Colorado will leave the Big 12 for the Pac-10 next season.

The Sooners remain tied with in-state rivalry Oklahoma State for second place in the Big 12 South, one half-game behind Baylor. The Bears defeated Texas 30-22 Saturday to improve to 4-1 in conference play.

The win over Colorado gives OU 35 consecutive wins in Norman, the longest active streak in the nation. The Sooners will hit the road next week to play Texas A&M at 6 p.m. Saturday.
