OSU’s Harrison Named Player of the Week

Oklahoma State’s Michael Harrison took his first ever special teams player of the week honors this week.

IRVING, Texas—Oklahoma State’s Michael Harrison was named the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week after great performance against Kansas.

Harrison, a native of Atlanta, Texas, blocked a punt by Kansas and returned it for a touchdown in Oklahoma State’s 48-14 rote of Kansas.

OSU was only winning 27-14 before Harrison’s special teams dandy that put the Pokes up 34-14.

Harrison was awarded player of the week honors along with Colorado’s Rodney Stewart who was named offensive player of the week and Michael Hodges of Texas A&M who was honored as the defensive player of the week.

Harrison is the eighth Oklahoma State player to receive player of the week honors this season including four offensive, two defensive and two special teams honors. It is also OSU’s third consecutive week with a player to win the award, as Orie Lemon won the defensive honor for his performance against Texas and Brandon Weeden won the offensive honor for his game against Baylor.

The Cowboys prepare to battle Oklahoma in this year’s Bedlam game Sat. Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
