OSU’s Blackmon Wins Paul Warfield Award

Oklahoma State’s Justin Blackmon is named the best receiver in college football.

STILLWATER, Oklahoma – Oklahoma State All-America receiver Justin Blackmon has received the 2010 Paul Warfield Award, which names the best receiver in college football.

As a sophomore, Blackmon caught 102 passes for 1,665 yards and 18 touchdowns during the 2010 regular season.

The Ardmore native also leads the nation in receiving yards per game with 151.36, and inreceptions per game with 9.2.

He is also fourth in the nation for points per game with 10.91 and ninth in all-purpose yards per game with 159.

Blackmon joins an elite list of past winners of the award, including names like Desmond Howard, Keyshawn Johnson, Randy Moss, Santana Moss, Larry Fitzgerald and several other notable athletes. Blackmon is the first Cowboy to receive the honor.

The award will be presented during the club’s annual award banquet on February 5 in Columbus Ohio.

The annual award given by the Touchdown Club of Columbus, is named for Ohio State football legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Paul Warfield.
