STILLWATER, Oklahoma—The Oklahoma State Cowgirls handled the Texas Pan-American Broncos Sunday afternoon inside Gallagher-Iba Arena by a final of 94-40.

Despite a quick three pointer by UTPA’s Ce’Monay Newell to start the scoring, OSU took an 8-7 lead just five minutes into the game and never looked back.

The Cowgirls used a 10-2 run to go up 14-9, holding UTPA to nearly five minutes without scoring a single point until Re-Shawndra Jackson hoisted a three pointer to end the Broncos scoring drought.

With just seconds left in the first half, OSU’s Kendra Suttles came up with a big block that Tiffany Bias quickly outlet passed to Toni Young for the fast break layup as time expired to put Oklahoma State up 46-20 heading into the locker room at half.

Young, a sophomore standout from Del City, was the only player on both teams to reach double figures in the first half. She was also only one rebound away from a double-double with 10 points and nine boards in the first half alone.

At the break, 15 of UTPA’s 20 first half points came off of three point buckets by Jackson and Newell while the Cowgirls shot 50 percent from field goal range and had five players with six or more points.

Newell came out of the break for the Broncos to score a quick five points, but Texas Pan-Am couldn’t get anything else going in the second half as they went another ten minutes without a point, but it was too little too late to compete with the Cowgirls who used that time to go on a 24-0 run.

Newell, the only Bronco to score more than 10 points, finished with 19 on the day as Texas Pan-American was moves to 8-9 on the year.

Vicky McIntire led the Cowgirls in scoring with 14 points and six rebounds while Carissa Crutchfield added 13 points.

Young finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks for the Cowgirls who move to 11-1 on the season.

Sunday’s game marked the third time this season OSU has held its opponent to 40 or less total points.

Oklahoma State takes the hardwood again Tuesday Jan. 4 against Vermont at 7:00 p.m. inside Gallagher-Iba.
