TULSA, Oklahoma – The Tulsa 66ers started the night on Saturday in first place in the Western Conference. By the end of the night, they’d either have strengthened their hold on first or fallen out of the top spot.
Unfortunately, it was the lesser of the two options for the 66ers.
The team did get solid contributions from 5 players who all scored in double figures. But, Tulsa fell behind Rio Grande Valley early in the game and they weren’t able to ever dig out of that hole as they fell to the Vipers 100-94.
That loss drops Tulsa to 31-17 this year. Since Rio Grande Valley won, they leaped over the 66ers in the standings. And Reno also won on Saturday night, vaulting them into a tie for first with the Vipers.
So with just a couple games left in the regular season, Rio Grande Valley and Reno are tied for first at 31-16 and Tulsa is just a half game back at 31-17.
The 66ers will wrap up the regular season on Friday and Saturday when they host back-to-back games against the Dakota Wizards.
