ROGERS COUNTY, Oklahoma -- Seven teenagers were injured after being ejected from the back of a pickup truck during a Rogers County wreck Saturday morning.

Troopers say Victor Antonio Ramirez, 19, was behind the wheel of a 1995 Ford Ranger when the truck ran off the side of South 4300 Road, about two miles south of State Highway 66 at about 4:51 a.m.

The truck left the roadway at a curve, struck a sign and bridge railing before coming to rest in a creek bed.

Ramirez had been drinking alcohol, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol collision report.

There was one passenger in the front of the pickup and seven other teens, ages 14 through 17, riding in the truck's bed. The front seat passenger, a 17-year-old male from Big Cabin, was taken by private vehicle to Claremore Regional Hospital where he was treated and released for minor injuries.

Two 14-year-old girls riding in the back or the truck, one from Big Cabin and one from Chelsea,  were also treated and released at the Claremore hospital, as was a 14-year-old Big Cabin boy.

The other four teens were all admitted to area hospitals in stable condition with head and other injuries. They included three boys from Chelsea, ages 14, 16 and 17, and a 14-year-old Claremore boy.

The wreck was caused by drinking and driving, the trooper's report states, and no seat belts were in use.
