TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Drillers jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold off the Hooks' bats late, falling 9-4 Friday and snapping the Drillers' four-game win streak.

After Corpus Christi (29-49) opened the game with a RBI single in the top of the second, Tulsa (38-40) responded with four unanswered runs – including a three-run home run from Brian Rike – to take a 4-1 advantage at the end of the fourth.

However, the Hooks took the game over in the top half of the fifth inning.

With runners on first and third, Ross Seaton hit a soft fly ball to left field to bring Jacob Goebbert home and cut the lead to two runs. Two batters later with the bases loaded, Jose Altuve hit a bases-clearing double to center field to put Corpus Christi up 5-4.

A two-out double two at-bats later scored Altuve and gave the Hooks a two-run advantage heading into the final four innings. Chris Wallace knocked a two-run shot in the top of the eighth, while Jimmy Paredes hit an RBI single in the ninth to make it 9-4 Hooks and close the door on a comeback.

Ross Seaton (4-5) received a win for the outing, despite giving up four runs – none earned – on five hits in his six innings of service. Josh Sullivan (2-7) didn't fare much better, allowing six runs on eight hits, while striking out nine in his seven innings pitched.

Tulsa will have a chance to rebound at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, the closing game of the three-game series.
