TULSA, Oklahoma -- Nearly half of all teens admit to texting while driving, but a group of students from Booker T. Washington High School are doing their part to change that.

Know as the TXT Generation, they're dedicated to spreading awareness about the dangers of texting and driving.

On Tuesday at the University of Oklahoma Learning Center, the group released a music video on the hazards of distracted driving, in an effort to get others to join their cause.

"When you text and drive your chances of crashing are about 8-23 times as great as driving not distracted," Glade Inhofe said.

The video is part of the Stop, Drop, Drive initiative, which encourages teens to turn off their phones as soon as they get behind the wheel.
