Tulsa Country Club Course Re-Opens After Major Renovations
TULSA, Oklahoma -- After eleven months of much-needed upgrades, the historic course at Tulsa Country Club is up and running again.
The club invited members of the Tulsa media to tour the course on Tuesday and the new facelift has members buzzing.
World-renown golf course architect Rees Jones, known as "The Open Doctor" for his work renovating seven different U.S. Open venues, was in charge of the project.
He injected some life back into the greens by making them more accessible to the average golfer.
Jones has worked on courses all over the world including Bethpage Black, Baltusrol and Torrey Pines.
In addition to updating the greens, Jones and his team changed the contours on some of the fairways, added bunkers and replaced grass from fence to fence. Tulsa Country Club is located just outside downtown and features beautiful views of the Tulsa skyline from multiple hole locations.
