TULSA, Oklahoma -- Even though the players have been away from the football field for weeks thanks to a league-wide lockout, the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders haven't gotten any kind of break. The world's most famous cheer squad has been working out and preparing as if the season is just around the corner.

"It's business as usual at (the team practice facility) Valley Ranch for us," said Sunni. "We're in training camp right now, nearing the end of training camp and selecting the squad for the next season."

"(The lockout) hasn't really affected us yet, but if games are changed then it would affect us."

The Cowboys cheerleaders visited ONEOK Field on Saturday night to perform at the Drillers game. The squad cheered between the second and sixth innings, and felt at home on the diamond.

"This is normal," smiled Jackie. "We're used to performing on golf courses and rodeos. You name it, you'll probably see a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader there."

The offseason has been stressful for players and owners as the two sides try to finalize the details of a new collective bargaining agreement. The NFL lockout has reached 130 days but both parties are reportedly nearing a deal sometime this week.

That news is music to the cheerleader's ears.

"We're prepping as if football is going to start on time," said Jackie. "We're just doing our best. We're just hoping that it clears up soon."
