WAGONER, Oklahoma—Wagoner will be without starting quarterback Prince McJunkins during this week's contestagainst Poteau, and possibly longer.

McJunkins suffered a right ankle sprain early in the 2nd quarter of the Wagoner-Fort Gibson contest.

“He can walk, but he won’t be able to practice this week,” Wagoner head coach Dale Condict said. “We’ll see how he feels next Monday. He will definitely miss this week and possibly next week.”

Sophomore Taylor Bosco replaced McJunkins in the Fort Gibson game and the offense did not miss a beat, as Wagoner rolled to a 37-14 win.

“(Bosco) played great Friday without any preparation,” Condict said.

The Bulldogs (4-1) face a tough test when they travel to 4A-4 foe Poteau. The Pirates are 5-0 and are only allowing an average of 5.8 points per game. Even with the stiff test, Condict feels Bosco will step up once again.

“We feel he will do well again now that he is more comfortable in the roll,” Condict said. “He’s a different player than Prince, but the guys around him are good and they have confidence in him.”

Wagoner topped Poteau last year, 28-0.
