NORMAN, Oklahoma -- The Norman North Timberwolves struggled in the first half, failing to put points on the board, while the Edmond Santa Fe Wolves was able to get a 7-point lead.

Norman North (4-4, 2-4) hosted Edmond Santa Fe (2-7, 1-5) on the Timberwolves’ senior night. Both teams realized going into the game, the final score would likely influence who saw post-season play.

By halftime, Norman North had more than double the rushing yards of Edmond Santa Fe, racking up 110 yards to the Wolves’ 45 yards.

Edmond Santa Fe’s offense did test the Timberwolves’ defense in the first two quarters, recording 52 passing yards, while Norman North only grabbed 25 yards. Edmond Santa Fe led at halftime, 7-0.

Although the Wolves headed into Friday’s game with a 1-7 record, head coach Bruce Gowen said his team’s emotions were high and they’re focused on relentlessly pressuring the Timberwolves.

A second Edmond Santa Fe touchdown put the Wolves up 14-0. Norman North answered with a touchdown, putting them on the board with just under 10 minutes of play left in the game.

Another 10 points by the Wolves late in the fourth quarter secured Edmond Santa Fe’s victory over the Norman North Timberwolves.

Edmond Santa Fe beat Norman North, 24-7, likely bumping Norman North out of the playoffs.

Norman North travels to Lawton next Thursday in the last game of the season.
