OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Bethany Bronchos will no longer be playing with former starting quarterback Silas Day.
Day quit the team Monday, but would not elaborate on what led him to leave the playoff-bound Bronchos (7-4, 4-2).
The senior quarterback was expected to be a big playmaker for Bethany this season after leading Class 3A in passing last year.
Silas Day’s brother, junior wide receiver Nate Day, has also been a valuable asset for the Bronchos this season. Although it remains unknown why Silas Day quit the team, Nate Day remains on the roster.
Head coach Reagan Roof will replace Day with sophomore Ryley Claborn, who has seen only limited action this season.
Claborn and the Bronchos will host Pauls Valley Friday, November 6 in the team’s last game of the season.
