BEGGS, Oklahoma – Beggs High School annually hosts the Beggs Classic tournament, which usually has some great action.
The boys bracket was another good one this year. In the first round the Beggs Demons downed the Glenpool Warriors 66-46, 3A #4 Victory Christian shot down the Mounds Golden Eagles 73-32, the Chiefs of Berryhill tamed Chandler’s Lions 45-23, and 4A No. 15 Cascia Hall blitzed the Beggs JV 76-38.
In the loser’s bracket, Glenpool bested Mounds 51-46, and Chandler wiped out Beggs’ JV 54-29. It took overtime to settle it, but Beggs edged out a 51-50 triumph over Victory in the semis, and Cascia handled Berryhill pretty easily, as they won 68-59.
Mounds finally got a win, beating the Beggs JV 62-55, Glenpool won by 19 over Chandler, 63-44, to take the consolation title, Victory conquered Berryhill 58-43 to get third place, and Cascia won the championship by dropping Beggs 62-51 in the Saturday night finale.
First place went to Cascia Hall, second to Beggs, third to Victory Christian. Berryhill was fourth, followed by Glenpool in fifth, Chandler came in sixth, seventh place went to Mounds, and the Beggs JV was eighth.
