CATOOSA, Oklahoma – Although the starting day of the Port City Classic was postponed, day one of the tournament began Friday in Catoosa.

In the nightcap of the girls’ bracket, the 5A #8 Skiatook Lady Bulldogs met host Catoosa. The Lady Indians kept it close through the first half, but Skiatook prevailed 41-19.

The halftime score was just 20-10 in favor of the Lady ‘Dogs, but coming out of the locker room Catoosa could not find their shooting touch. Skiatook outscored the host team 21-9 in the second half for the victory. It should be mentioned, Catoosa senior Danielle Burgess went down early in the 4th quarter with an apparent knee injury. She did not return.

Day 2 of the Port City Classic continues tomorrow; Skiatook plays at 4 pm and Catoosa is in action starting at 10 am.
