TULSA, Oklahoma -- Booker T. Washington defensive end Derrick Alexander officially switched his commitment from Louisiana-Lafayette to the University of Tulsa Sunday.

The 6-foot 3-inch, 263-pound defensive end played a big part in the Hornets’ run for the 2010 Gold Ball, accounting for 151 tackles and 14 sacks.

Alexander’s commitment comes at the end of an official visit with the Golden Hurricane, the last opportunity for an official visit before National Signing Day Feb. 2.
