TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa Public Schools announced Monday the details of Booker T. Washington basketball coach Shea Seals’ suspension following his January arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence. The Hornets’ head man will be suspended five days without pay and an additional 15 days without pay.
During the suspension, Seals will be relieved of his classroom duties, coaching duties and all extracurricular activities at Booker T. Washington.
“I appreciate the manner in which Coach Seals has handled this unfortunate situation” TPS athletic director Stephanie Spring said in a press release. “He has expressed deep remorse and has taken full responsibility for his actions.”
Seals was arrested at 3:15 a.m. Jan. 23 and was also cited for improper lane change. He will be reinstated to all activities Feb. 21.
