MOORE, Okla. – The Westmoore Jaguars hosted the season’s second round of ‘Moore War’ action against the Moore Lions.

Last time the two teams met the Jags rolled the Lions 59-25 while the boys matchup went to the wire as Moore squeaked out a 42-39 win.

This time around in action from the girls game, Westmoore scored early and often.

Junior Brittany Alavinejad had a great performance swiping steals and taking it to the hoop gaining multiple and one opportunities for Westmoore.

The Lady Jaguars took this game by a final of 42-24.

Westmoore will play its first regional game Thursday at 6:30 against Yukon (8-13) in Midwest City while Moore (2-21) will face Norman (16-7) at 8 p.m. Thursday.

The boys matchup has been a battle this season between these two schools. Last game the winner was decided by a mere three points and this game would take overtime to crown a winner.

It all came down to the final seconds in overtime when Moore launched a three pointer and was fouled. The Lions converted the four point play to give them a one point, 63-62 advantage over Westmoore.

The loss is the third straight for Westmoore who falls to 7-13 on the season.

The Jags enter regional play Friday at Mustang (20-3) at 8 p.m. while the same night Moore (9-12) will face its first regional opponent in the Edmond Santa Fe Wolves (16-4) in Edmond.
