TULSA, Oklahoma – Today’s Green Country Conference Top 5 player is East Central senior center Drew Wilson. The numbers speak for themselves: he has more than twice as many field goal attempts as the next closest player on the team. He averages 16 points and nearly 12 rebounds per game.

“Whenever I commit to defense first and I’m committed to getting rebounds first, that sets me apart from everybody else,” Wilson said. “Basically, one-on-one, I can get buckets over a lot of different people.”

And if the 6’ 7” Missouri State commit looks like he’s having a blast on the court, well, he is.

“Oh, I try to have as much fun as I can,” Wilson smiled as he spoke. “Anything [I can do] to make my teammates more into the game. That’s the main thing. If I can get my teammates into game, get us playing together, I think we’ve got a better chance of winning.”

“He’s always smiling and always happy about a lot of things,” explained Cardinal head coach Beau Wallace. “And then when we get on the basketball court, he’s a competitor and wants to win the game. So, he’s got a lot of good qualities that I like about him.”

Our Top 5 series continues next with Tulsa Edison’s senior center.
