TULSA, Oklahoma -- A burn ban is in effect in Tulsa County as of Friday. The County Commissioners passed a resolution banning outdoor burning for the next nine days.
The ban includes controlled burns such as trash and bonfires. Outdoor grilling – electric, gas and charcoal – is allowed, providing it is done on a paved or gravel surface.
Emergency management officials surveyed area fire departments for several days. On Friday, they decided conditions warranted the ban, according to a release from the Council Commissioner's office.
The burn ban will be reviewed in nine days.
