TULSA, Oklahoma -- A river ran through Midtown Tulsa Friday night.
A water main break flooded Evanston Avenue at 12th Street, creating an instant river that brought neighborhood kids out in their bathing suits for one last taste of summer.
But after two hours, neighbors started to get worried as the water crept towards their houses.
"There is a hole that our neighbors stood in and it was up to his chin," said midtown resident Sunny Bathanti.
Our crew spotted water getting into crawlspaces and inching closer to homes.
Utility crews appeared to be getting the leak under control by about 8 p.m.
