Friday Night Flights: Broken Arrow And East Central Hang On

Posted: Updated:

TULSA, Oklahoma – Tulsa's Friday Night Flights checked out two of the top games in the Tulsa area, and those teams certainly gave fans their money's worth.

To start the night, East Central held off Coweta 14-10 in one of the closest games of the night.

Coweta came out swinging, scoring to go up 7-0 early and then audaciously recovering their own onside kick.

By halftime, Coweta had added another field goal but East Central picked up a touchdown of its own to pull within 10-7 at halftime.

William Goree came through for the Cardinals, scoring on a 4-yard run to put East Central up 14-10 and they would hang on for the victory.

East Central kept its undefeated record (now at 5-0) and will host Tulsa Central next.

Coweta (2-3) will travel to Grove.

Broken Arrow certainly got Muskogee's best shot, as the Tigers held off the Rougher in a crazy finish, 33-26 in overtime.

The Roughers got on the board first with an early touchdown, but Levi Coplin took the ensuing kickoff back for Broken Arrow to tie it up at 7.

The two teams traded scores until the game was tied again at 20 with eight minutes remaining.

Broken Arrow scored on an impressive 70-yard run, but missed the extra point, making it 26-20.

Muskogee responded with a score, and with a chance to seal the game, had its extra point blocked, forcing overtime.

The Tigers managed the only points in overtime and came away with the close win.

Broken Arrow will host Sapulpa on Friday while Muskogee will head to Jenks.
