Funeral For Fallen Oklahoma City Soldier Kept Private

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Oklahoma National Guard says the family of a soldier who was killed in Afghanistan has requested that details of his funeral services and burial not be released to the public.

Specialist Francisco J. Briseno-Alvarez Jr. was killed September 25, 2011 when his unit was attacked with an improvised explosive device. He was the 12th Oklahoma National Guard soldier to die in Afghanistan since July 29.

Briseno-Alvarez was assigned to the Stillwater-based 1st Battalion, 179th Infantry Regiment, 45th Brigade Combat team.

Briseno-Alvarez graduated from U.S. Grant High School in south Oklahoma City in 2003, and joined the Army National Guard on September 11, 2010.
