TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office says this year's fair was one of the largest and safest fairs on record.

The sheriff's office filed 87 reports this year, that's down from 97 last year, according to a report released Tuesday.

"The partnerships with local law enforcement agencies allowed us to increase the volume of guests while keeping our commitment to safety and excellence," said Mark Andrus, Expo Square President/CEO.

There were 37 arrests at the state fair, also down from 43 in 2010.

According to Expo Square officials, this year's fair also attracted an estimated 1,123,000 attendees, up 2 percent from last year.  However, Expo Square has not released the number of actual tickets sold or how much money it collected for those sales.

Ride operators also saw an increase this year:

  • 17 percent increase in Mega Ride Pass sales.
  • 18 percent increase of Midway Ride sales.
  • 24 percent increase in Sky Ride sales.
