TAHLEQUAH, Oklahoma – Saturday was a day of record-breaking performances as Northeastern State took on Harding.

NSU wide receiver Trey McVay had an outstanding performance and set a new NCAA record among all divisions with 425 receiving yards on the day. McVay recorded all six of the RiverHawk's offensive touchdowns and set three school records of his own.

The Fort Gibson graduate and senior receiver now owns the record for touchdowns in a game (6), receiving yards in a game (425) and receptions in a game (16).

Quarterback Johnny Deaton, who transferred to NSU from Oklahoma State, set the school's single-game record for total offense with 572 yards. The Sand Springs graduate tallied 542 passing yards and 30 yards rushing.

McVay and Deaton's performances, along with a blocked kick by Edy Carmona helped boost NSU to its third consecutive win.

Northeastern State (4-3) never trailed after putting up 13 points in the first quarter to lead 13-0. It was 26-14 at halftime, but Harding never relented.

With seconds left in the game, Myers blocked Harding's potential game-winning field goal and scooped up the loose ball to returned it 72 yards as time expired to lift Northeastern State to a thrilling 49-41 Homecoming victory over Harding.

NSU finished with 542 passing yards and 55 yards rushing while Harding tallied 164 yards passing and 458 yards rushing.

The RiverHawks return to action Oct. 22 on the road against Arkansas-Monticello at 3 p.m.
