70-Year-Old Man Killed Walking Along Oklahoma Highway

Arthur DiStefano of Eufaula was hit from behind as he walked along State Highway 9 near Longtown in Pittsburgh County.

PITTSBURGH COUNTY, Oklahoma -- A 70-year-old man was killed when he was struck by a pickup as he walked along an Oklahoma highway Friday evening. Arthur DiStefano of Eufaula was hit from behind at about 7:16 p.m. as he walked along State Highway 9 in Pittsburgh County.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, DiStefano was westbound on the side of the road near Longtown when he was struck by a pickup that was also westbound.

No one in the pickup was injured. The cause of the fatality collision is listed as pedestrian action. DiStefano's condition before the wreck is listed as unknown.
