The Golden Eagles' women's basketball team traveled south Wednesday for an afternoon matchup with the North Texas Mean Green and came out on top 70-60 to remain perfect on the season.

The first half played close, with Oral Roberts leading for most of the first 20 minutes, but the Mean Green battled back. Trailing by four with 7:50 left on the clock, North Texas seized the momentum with five unanswered points and closed the half on a 15-7 run to head into halftime with a 34-28 lead.

That deficit held for the opening five minutes of the first half and Oral Roberts trailed 39-32 at the 15:10 mark. Kevi Luper's jumper on the next possession stopped the bleeding and started the Golden Eagles' comeback, sparking nine unanswered – the first seven coming from Luper – to take a 41-39 lead just 90 seconds later.

North Texas retook the lead on a pair of free throws after the change of possession, but ORU once again snapped off seven-straight, capped by a three-point play from Jordan Pyle, to push the lead to six points.

Leading by 48-44 at the nine-minute mark, the Golden Eagles came up with another big 10-0 run, four each from Luper, Jaci Bingham, to take a 58-44 lead at the six minute mark and essentially close the door on a North Texas comeback.

Luper finished with a game-high 22 points, while coming up with four steals, while Pyle notched 15 points and eight rebounds and Bingham contributed 12 points, eight boards and six assists.

Jasmine Godbolt nearly came away with a double-double, notching 17 points and nine rebounds and Tamara Torru came away with 15 and seven.

ORU will now head back to the Mabee Center for a 2:05 p.m. matchup Saturday against Louisiana Tech.
