Another suspicious fire took place in north Tulsa Tuesday night, according to Stan May of the Tulsa Fire Department.

Crews were called to a house at 1720 E. 56th Street North at about 9 p.m. They were able to quickly get the fire out.

Tulsa Fire initially thought the house was vacant but has learned that the home was being remodeled.

"The work kept the owners from residing in the structure," May said in a news release.

"There was consistent activity both inside and outside the house the last several months; that activity is causing the investigators to look at other suspects for that particular fire. We would like to apologize to the owners for incorrectly stating the status of their property."

There were two other suspicious fires Monday night in Tulsa. These blazes do not appear to be related to a series of arsons earlier this year, according to the TFD.

"The Fire Marshal stated that the methods used were not consistent with the earlier fires," Public Information Officer Stan May said in a news release.

"The houses are also located outside the area the earlier fires were concentrated in."

The Fire Marshal is not releasing the specific details of the ongoing investigations, but encourages citizens to continue to report suspicious activity to the Arson Hotline at 918-596-ARSN (2776).

"Several of the arson related arrests over past few months occurred because of tips from our citizens," May said.
