For many of us, last minute shopping is as much a holiday tradition as stuffing a turkey, drinking eggnog or opening presents. But it comes with a price that usually keeps going up the longer you wait.

I did a little investigating on the trend of procrastinating. I went to a Tulsa shipping store in Utica Square to see how they're handling the last second Christmas rush.

"We do see a lot of the same men, I guess it is, coming in at the last minute." Kara Martin, owner of the BoxWorks.

"Oh, I totally would agree with that. Not only do they procrastinate, but they get the women in their lives to do it for them. You know, they come on Christmas Eve and think it's magically going to happen. Maybe they're Santa, who knows," customer Melanie Hill.

Whether you're a man or a woman, last minute is en vogue every holiday season.

The BoxWorks owner Kara Martin says this is her busiest time of year, and most of her holiday shippers are procrastinators.

"We have one gentleman who comes in Christmas Eve and we wrap all of his stuff Christmas Eve. But we've all been there seeing a last minute gift you just have to have for that far-from-home loved one, but not enough time to get it there," said Kara Martin.

The Box Works tries to help Santa with his last minute deliveries, but if you wait until the very last minute, it'll cost you a pretty penny.

"Well, we can always do overnight shipping. I mean, it gets really costly, but if you need it there, if there are some kids waiting for it, I would do it. It's just expensive," said Kara Martin.

Looking ahead to next Christmas, here's some advice.

"Try to start a little earlier. I mean, it does take awhile and it's so disappointing if it doesn't get there before Christmas. Then you have to worry about it. So yeah, if you could at least start the tenth or something, that's always good," said Kara Martin.

Here are the shipping deadlines you should know. If you get your things out Friday, December 16, 2011, they can get anywhere by ground.

As we get closer to the big day, there are three day and then two day options.

The cutoff, if you want your gifts to arrive by Christmas, is December 23, 2011. Even then, overnight shipping is usually not 100 percent guaranteed.

The BoxWorks' address is 1876 Utica Square 2-D or you can call them 918-749-3475.

Also, if you don't feel like dealing with the shipping yourself our Money Saving Queen Sarah Roe Friday, December 16, 2011 is a free shipping day at thousands of online stores.
