Fire In Microwave Prompts Evacuation Of Sand Springs Assisted Living Center

Residents of a Sand Springs Assisted Living Center had to be evacuated after a small fire inside a microwave in a resident's 3rd floor room early Monday morning.

Residents of a Sand Springs Assisted Living Center had to be evacuated after a small fire inside a microwave in a resident's 3rd floor room early Monday morning.

Sand Springs Fire responded to the Green Tree Assisted Living Center at 4402 South 129th West Avenue.

Staff at the center had already begun evacuating residents by the time firefighters arrived.

The fire did cause a lot of smoke on the third floor.

Once the smoke was cleared from the third floor, residents were allowed to return to their rooms.

No one was injured.
