Tulsa Elementary Student's Foot Run Over In Front Of School

Editor's note:  An earlier version of this story reported that the victim was 11 years old, based on information provided to News On 6 by emergency crews at the scene.  We have since learned the boy is actually 8 years old.

TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa Public Schools says an 8-year-old student was taken to a Tulsa hospital after his foot was run over by a pickup truck in front of Owen Elementary School Thursday morning.

Tulsa Police, Fire and EMSA were all dispatched to the scene in the 1100 block of North Vandalia Avenue shortly before 8 a.m.

School officials say the 2nd grader's mother was present at the time of the incident.

The driver of the truck was cited for driving with a suspended license.

EMSA paramedics took the boy non-emergency to the hospital.  At last report, he was listed in fair condition.
