LATIMER COUNTY, Oklahoma -

A collision Friday evening in Latimer County hospitalized two Red Oak children. Troopers say the two boys, both under 10, were not belted in, and the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

The injury collision took place at 6:44 p.m. on State Highway 82 about two miles north of State Highway 270, according to a report by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Driver Eric Coffey, 28, was northbound on Highway 82 when his Chevy pickup left the roadway to the right, went into a broad slide and flipped a time and a half, coming to rest on the driver's side.

Four-year-old Chet Coffey was thrown about 10 feet from the truck. He was taken by medical helicopter to a Tulsa hospital in stable condition with  external trunk injuries and leg injuries.

Westen Coffey, 6, was also taken by helicopter to a Tulsa hospital. He was listed in stable condition with external trunk injuries, the trooper's report states.

Eric Coffey was also thrown about 10 feet from the truck. He was not injured. The investigating trooper said Coffey was driving under the influence of alcohol.
