A driver running from police crashed his car into the front yard of a south Tulsa residence late Friday night.

The chase started when officers pulled the man over for aggravated speeding in the 6000 block of South Yale. He took off, leading police on a 20-minute chase that circled through a nearby neighborhood.

The man lost control of his car on a curve and crashed into the front yard of a home in the 4500 block of East 59th Place shortly after 10 p.m.

After a short foot pursuit, police caught the suspect about a block away. They believe he may have been drinking.

Police say the homeowner was very surprised by the incident, but there appeared to be little or no damage to his property.
