Former Creek Turnpike Booth Operator Charged With Embezzlement

A former toll booth attendant on the Creek Turnpike has been arrested after she was charged January 26, 2012, with embezzlement.

According to Tulsa County court records, Betty Kuhn, 58, of Mounds embezzled $6,799.36 from the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority between September 2010 and December 2011.

OTA spokesperson Jack Damrill says Kuhn was terminated in mid-December following an internal audit and investigations by OTA and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The results of the audit and investigations were turned over to the Tulsa County District Attorney's office.

Kuhn had worked for the OTA since 2002.

Kuhn is currently free on a $2,000 bond pending a February 7, 2012, court hearing.
