EL PASO, Texas -

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane was held to its lowest shooting percentage on the year Wednesday night as UTEP downed TU 64-55.

Tulsa managed only 32 percent from the field on the night and managed only 6-of-24 from behind the arc for 25 percent.

Before Wednesday's game, the Golden Hurricane had won seven in a row, including nine of its last 11games overall. The loss puts TU at 14-10 on the season and 7-3 in conference play.

One of the biggest difference makers for UTEP came down low in the paint as they poured in total of 36 points from inside. On the night the Miners shot 47.8 percent from the field and forced 13 Tulsa turnovers.

UTEP got out to a 6-0 lead after TU went 0-5 and had three early turnovers. 3-pointers got Tulsa going and helped chip away at the Miners lead. It wasn't until there was 8:19 remaining the opening half that TU sank its first two point bucket.

Three buckets and a couple of free throws later though, UTEP held a 10 point lead and at the break was up 32-23.

In the second half UTEP led by as many as 15 as John Bohannon led the way for the Miners scoring 16 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field.

Three Tulsa players managed double digits on the night as Jordan Clarkson led the way with 16 while Scottie Haralson netted 13 and Eric McClellan added 12 points.

The win moved UTEP to 11-13 on the season and 4-6 in Conference USA.

Tulsa will look to rebound Saturday Feb. 11 as they host Houston at 7 p.m.
