WICHITA, Kansas – The Golden Eagles' season came to a disappointing end on Friday night as they fell 79-57 to Wichita State in the NIT opener.
Oral Roberts couldn't take care of the basketball, turning it over 22 times, and also had trouble getting into an offensive rhythm with 39 percent shooting.
A quick 6-0 run and a 13-0 run quickly afterward for the Shockers essentially had the game over almost before it started.
After Wichita State got its lead up to double digits, the margin never got back down to single digits for the rest of the game.
Kevi Luper had 17 points to lead ORU while senior Jordan Pyle added 14 in her final game as a Golden Eagle.
Oral Roberts' year finishes out at 20-11, while Wichita State improved to 20-12. The Shockers will move on to face the Cowgirls in the second round in Stillwater.
