The Oklahoma Sooners lost the opening game of a four-game series Thursday, falling to Texas A&M 4-3 in 12 innings.
After going scoreless in the ninth, 10th, 11th and top of the 12th innings, Texas A&M finally moved to end the game. Cole Lankford hit a leadoff walk and Charlie Curl came in to pinch run for the catcher with the winning run on base.
Curl advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt and reached third on a wild pitch with just one out on the board. Krey Bratsen followed with a sacrifice fly to bring Curl home to win the game 4-3.
Kyle Martin (5-2) was credited with a win for his outing, not allowing a run to score in his four innings of service, striking out five batters. Steven Okert (4-5) received a loss for the outing, giving up one earned run and walking four batters in his 4.1 innings of service.
Oklahoma will try to avoid losing back-to-back games at 6:35 p.m. Saturday in the second game of the weekend series.
