Authorities arrested two men Saturday morning after a University of Central Oklahoma student was kidnapped, beaten, robbed and shot.
According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, 19-year-old Randale Anderson and 23-year-old Sir Demarco Dartnayon Bledsoe have been arrested on complaints of robbery and kidnapping. Anderson is a student at Langston University.
Agents with the OSBI say the victim, 23-year-old James Sykes, picked up the two men Friday night in a parking lot of the Central Plaza Apartments on UCO campus.
During a drive along Interstate 35, investigators say the suspects, Anderson and Bledsoe, pulled a gun on the victim, and robbed and beat him for half an hour.
At some point the victim was shot in the leg. The car then swerved off the road and hit an embankment. The suspects ran from the scene and left the victim in the car.
OSBI agents tracked the suspects to the Centennial Court Apartments dorm at Langston University at about 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
The two were arrested and booked in to the Logan County Jail.
Sykes was flown to OU Hospital. He is expected to make a full recovery.
