A bizarre set of circumstances led to the deaths of three people who were involved in two accidents Saturday morning on I-35 north in Goldsby.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the first accident occurred at 9:30 a.m. on I-35 north at mile marker 102. Investigators say a vehicle with two people in it saw another vehicle with two people in it in distress parked on the side of the highway.
"I'm not saying if it was a domestic for sure. It could have been a medical call...to try to get people to stop," said Goldsby Volunteer Firefighter, Pat Goldsby.
The people who stopped got out of their car and started walking back towards the people who were having problems.

"It's kind of a good Samaritan act. They went to pull over to see if they can provide assistance, and a guy loses control, comes off the interstate, actually strikes and kills the two people who stopped to help. Tragic situation," said OHP Capt. Chris West.
The first accident backed up traffic for more than three miles. Then tragedy struck again. Investigators say a three-wheeled motorcycle carrying a man and woman that was in that three mile long traffic back up lost control at mile marker 98.
A woman who was the passenger on the motorcycle was killed. Her boyfriend was airlifted to Presbyterian Hospital. One of his friends tells News 9 he suffered a severe concussion and a broken leg.
"If you've traveled on I-35 or I-40, you know it backs up, not paying attention and boom we have another crash," West said.
West says it could be a week or more before prosecutors decide whether anyone should be charged with a crime for either accident.
