Since they won't be performing Monday, the OKC Ballet Company is putting on shows for resort guests, poolside.
PIKES PEAK, Colo. -
Colorado is seeing
record-breaking heat right now and that's not doing firefighters any favors.
Eight separate
wildfires are burning across that state right now. Military help is being
brought in to battle the fire that erupted near Colorado Springs Saturday night.
The blaze quickly grew out of control to more than three square miles and
emptied a popular resort town at the base of Pikes Peak.
Some of Oklahoma's
Own are being impacted by those Colorado Wildfires. The Oklahoma City Ballet
company is in Colorado right now. They were supposed to perform Monday night at
an arts festival, but the fires got too close for comfort so the dancers were
relocated to a resort in nearby Vail.
Since they won't
be performing Monday, they're putting on shows for resort guests, poolside. They're
also getting acquainted with a dance company from New York.
OKC Ballet
supporter Chris Keesee footed the bill for all the dancers to evacuate.
