Muskogee Man Sentenced To Federal Prison For Stolen Firearms

Posted: Updated:
MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma -

The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced on Wednesday that 21-year-old Wendell Irwin Hutchinson Jr., of Muskogee, has been sentenced to 37 months in prison, followed by 36 months of supervised release for possession of stolen firearms.

The charge arose from an investigation by the Muskogee Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The defendant was indicted in February 2012 and pleaded guilty in March.

The indictment alleged that on or about December 10, 2011, Hutchinson knowingly possessed and concealed stolen firearms which had been shipped and transported in interstate commerce, while knowing and having reasonable cause to believe the firearms were stolen.

Hutchinson remains in the custody of the United States Marshal Service pending transportation to the designated federal prison at which he will serve his nonparolable sentence, the release said.
