TULSA, Oklahoma -

The City of Tulsa will not be imposing mandatory water restrictions Friday.

The city says customers used 202 million gallons of water on Thursday, which is below the 204 million gallon cut-off for mandatory restrictions.

On Wednesday, customers used 204 million gallons of water.  On Tuesday, they used 202 million gallons, and on Monday, Tulsans used 207 million.

The city is still asking residents and businesses to voluntarily conserve water.

City officials say there are three stages before Tulsa imposes mandatory restrictions on outdoor watering.

Stage 1: Voluntary

  • Voluntarily water between midnight and noon – every other day (even/odd)
    • "City ordinance states that if water use tops 197 million gallons per day (mgd) for two consecutive days, Stage 1 voluntary water restrictions will be asked for. That means customers are asked to limit outside watering to the hours between midnight and noon every other day, based on odd-even address numbers."

Stage 2: Mandatory

  • Mandatory – only water between midnight and noon – every other day (even/odd)
    • "If water use tops 204 mgd for two consecutive days, Stage two mandatory restrictions will be imposed. Stage two would make those voluntary restrictions mandatory."

  Stage 3: Mandatory

  • Mandatory – only water between midnight and noon – every other day (even/odd) with hand-held hose.
    • "For stage three restrictions, if water use reaches 210 mgd for two days, watering would be restricted to the hours between midnight and noon every other day and with the use of a hand-held hose only."
    •  If use grows higher that 210 mgd, then outside watering could be prohibited
