TULSA, Oklahoma -

It's the last splash of the summer at Tulsa Park Department's five public pools this week and next.

With kids and lifeguards heading back to school – the five pools are closing up for the year.

Friday was the last day at Berry pool at 5002 North Wheeling.  Whiteside pool at 4009 South Pittsburg closes Saturday.

The three other pools close on Friday, August 10, 2012.

  • Lacy pool – 2134 North Madison Place
  • McClure pool – 7440 East 7th Street
  • Reed pool – 4233 South Yukon

Tulsa Parks says the playgrounds and splash pads will remain open through September.

Looking ahead to next week, Tulsa Parks says the annual "K-9 Splash" pool parties for dogs and their owners will be at Reed pool on August 11th and McClure pool on August 12th.

Admission is $5 per dog. Tickets are available at the Reed Community Center and the Hicks Community Center.

Officials say dogs must be current with their shots and on a leash when entering and exiting the pool area.
