GUTHRIE, Oklahoma -

A 75-year-old bridge in Guthrie buckled in the heat Friday.

It was set to be replaced two years from now, but isn't going to make it.

Crews jack hammered the shattered concrete, but repairs will have to wait.

"To pour concrete in this heat, it would just flash set. It wouldn't set up properly and it'd probably crumble back out and we'd be replacing it again in a week probably," said Paul Green, Field Engineer with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

Engineers plan to pour the concrete in the middle of the night, when the weather is at its coolest.
