The city of Owasso dedicated its first CNG fueling station Monday. The vintage-style building replicates a 1920s Shell gas station located on Main Street Owasso until it was torn down in 1974.

Several dignitaries spoke at the ribbon cutting, including U.S. Senator James Inhofe, U.S. Representative John Sullivan, Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett and Owasso Mayor Doug Bonebrake.

Inhofe congratulated the city on embracing alternative fuel.

"You talk about the price of gas right now, and if you're as concerned as my wife is with what's happened the last couple of days, this is a solution," Inhofe said.

"All you have to do is go to this type of natural gas."

The new CNG station is located at 101 North Main Street in Owasso.
