Oklahoma City police arrested a woman on complaints of animal cruelty and prostitution after a man accused her of throwing a small dog to the floor.
The man called police August 26 to a home in the 2200 block of S.W. 62nd Street. He said he and 25-year-old Kammie Lindsey were arguing when she grabbed his Chihuahua and slammed it to the floor. He was afraid the dog was seriously injured.
When police arrived, they found the man holding Lindsey down, and the dog lying motionless on the floor. The officer handcuffed Lindsey and called animal welfare to the scene.
The dog was taken to a veterinary hospital. According to the man who originally called police, the dog died from its injuries.
Lindsey was booked into Oklahoma County jail on one count of animal cruelty. She was also booked on an outstanding warrant for prostitution.
