The Catoosa Blue Whale has been charming visitors since 1972.
There will be music and dancing as the Blue Whale turns 40.

A Green Country landmark turns 40, and the party is on. The Catoosa Blue Whale Route 66 is having a 40th birthday bash Friday night.
There will be cake, ice cream and blue punch from 6 to 9 p.m. The public is invited.
Wear your dancing shoes and dance the night away with music provided by DJ Connection's. The Blue Whale can be found at 2680 North Highway 66 in Catoosa.
The Route 66 charmer was built in 1972 as part of a children's zoo. It was a swimming hole in the '70s and '80s. You can no longer swim there, but it's still a great place to take a break from driving or picnic with the kids.
It draws tourists from around the world.
