OKEMAH, Oklahoma -

One of two former Muscogee Creek Nation daycare workers faces an additional charge of child abuse by injury stemming from an incident at the daycare earlier this year.

Rosie Hicks, 49, and Tracy Owen, 36, appeared in an Okfuskee County court Monday for their preliminary hearing charged with child abuse.

Okemah Police say the pair fed a 13-month-old toddler habenero sauce at the daycare.

The Okfuskee County DA's office says Rosie Hicks is accused of attempting to feed the same toddler a bowl of rice with a high amount of salt at the daycare.
