ORU Volleyball Dominates Nicholls State

The Oral Roberts volleyball team made quick work of Nicholls State on Saturday, taking a three set sweep of the Colonels in Tulsa.

The Golden Eagles hit .317 as a team and won by scores of 25-17, 25-7 and 25-16 as ORU won its second-consecutive match.

ORU (6-9, 2-2 Southland) featured a balanced attack. Tatum Fredeen and Sheina Fernandes each posted 11 kills, with Fernandes hitting .667, and Laura Taylor had 29 set assists. Bruna Silva and Luara Rosa each tallied 14 digs on the defensive end, while Fernandes added three blocks.

The Colonels (5-8, 2-2 SLC) hit just .068 as a team. Jessica Addicks had a team-high seven kills, and Jeanne Logarbo led NSU with 11 digs.

ORU started off each set strong to boost the blowout victory. The Eagles led 9-1 in the first, 7-0 in the second and 4-0 in the third to pace the matchup.

ORU returns to the court on Thursday when it faces Stephen F. Austin. Match time in Nacogdoches, Texas is set for 6:30 p.m.
