TULSA -

Families from all over the country flooded Tulsa for the 10th annual Buddy Walk.

Nearly 6,000 people participated on Sunday.

The Down Syndrome Association of Tulsa said it is one of the largest events of its kind.

They describe it as a big celebration -- raising awareness about Down Syndrome -- as well as money for local families.

Jerry and his son Ben came all the way from California for their sixth Buddy Walk.

"Ben enjoys this stuff," Jerry Ahumada said. "He loves the crowd, he's a pretty social person so... If you asked anyone here that's what they all want - just for them to be typical kids… they're typical, just like the rest."

During its ten years, the Tulsa Buddy Walk has raised half a million dollars.
